International cooperation between the Global North and Global South still suffers from a neo-colonial imbalance in both academic and political circles, \u2013 a premise that is, however, increasingly and justifiably coming under criticism. Moreover, the assumed bipolarity between North and South has long been outdated while numerous young development poles have popped up in the former developing countries and are growing with an impressive rapid dynamic, while at the same time, the cards are being reshuffled within the northern hemisphere as well between East and West. This year\u2019s TRIALOG conference aims to analyse current practices and discourses in this context, discuss progressive experiences and outline possibly more egalitarian approaches for the future.
\nThinking outside the box and other perspectives to address the overarching conference title are welcome!

The upcoming TRIALOG conference, organized in cooperation with Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Faculty of Architecture. Moreover, this year\u2019s conference, directly succeeding to the World Urban Forum 2022 in nearby Katowice, provides the chance to continue conversations held a few days prior.\u00a0The conference takes place unter the kind patronity of TUP \u2013 Society of Polish Town Planners, Silesian branch http:\/\/tup.slask.pl

SCHEDULE:
\nThursday 30th of June \u2013 Arrival:<\/strong>
\nInformal gathering in the evening in a restaurant in Gliwice (to be announced)
\nWe assume that many members \u2013 before joining the TRIALOG Conference in Gliwice \u2013 will attend the UN-HABITAT World Urban Forum (WUF 11) in Katowice \u2013 where the closing ceremony ends at 6pm. The fastest transport from Katowice to Gliwice is by train and takes an average of 25 minutes to arrive.<\/p>\n

Friday 1st July 2022 \u2013 Full Conference day with Exhibition opening<\/strong>
\nAll presentations and discussions will take place on the premises of Silesian University of Technology on Friday, 1 July 2022. We will begin at 9am and join an exhibition opening at 12:00 midday, followed by a lunch (included in the fee) in the university restaurant, and other sessions until early evening. The conference dinner will also take place on this evening.<\/p>\n

Saturday 2nd of July 2022 \u2013 Informal exchanges<\/strong>
\nWe will dedicate this day to more informal exchanges while experiencing Gliwice and its surroundings, and start with a guided city tour in the morning and possibly a bus tour in the region in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Note on Conference fees<\/strong>:\u00a0As we are partnering with a non-German partner university we will not be able to benefit from the usually available third party funding. Hence, this year, we will have to ask attendees for a fee of minimum 15,- Euro to cover the expenses for coffee and infrastructures by our partner University.<\/p>\n
